The Santa Maria Police
Council (SMPC) funds essential
equipment and programs for the Santa Maria
Police Department
which are not included in the city budget. Our goal is
a safer
Santa Maria for those who live in, work in, and visit our city.
In
just over 3 years the SMPC has donated over $180,700 to the Santa Maria
Police Department. SMPC donations have allowed the Police Department to
obtain the following:
Tasers
(every officer)
K-9 Training
K-9 Bite Suit
Night Vision Training
SWAT Simulation Training Weapons
Hobble Restraints
"Airsoft" Training Weapons for the SMPD Explorer Program
Crime Lab Equipment
What
your membership means. . . .
Your
membership will contribute to a continued pursuit to gather community
members together who care about the safety of our community and those
who serve it.
This
year alone, the Santa Maria Police Council was able to obtain grant
funding for the Santa Maria Police Department in the amount of $50,000 for much needed upgrades to its crime lab.
Another $5,000 grant
was given to the police explorer program to purchase training equipment
to enhance their experience, safety and knowledge of law enforcement.
The Santa Maria Police Council also awarded the police explorers
an additional $2,500 to
attend an annual conference of explorers, which will bring together more
than 600 explorers from
California
,
Arizona
and
Nevada
to put their training to the test.
Did

explorers from our community have gone onto law enforcement careers.

MISSION
Santa
Maria Police Council, Inc., is a newly formed 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. The council serves to support the Santa
Maria Police Department to enable purchases of safety materials and
equipment for the men and women of the department over and above what
the operating budget allows.
